the greatest thing since sliced bread
is now the product we all dread 
indoctrinated to simply say
use it once, throw it away
from cooking oil to body lotions
all this waste is filling the oceans 
and landfill sites across the nation
spoiling our planet for generations
bottles, cartons, films that cling
and our reliance upon these things
is something that we need to stop
by choosing carefully when we shop
it’s difficult to pin the blame
on any link in the chain
from manufacturer to objector
we are all in this together
it’s our planet we’re choking up
with plastic bottles and disposable cups
it’s time to reverse this earthly abuse
and cut down our plastic use.
